The Richmond Merchants Association, formerly known as the Business Association of Richmond, is committed to providing diverse, comprehensive, and forward-looking support to businesses and individuals engaged in commercial activities in the City of Richmond.
Established in 2017 and officially renamed in 2026, the Association has evolved from a business support platform into an important non-profit organization that connects the community, serves the public, promotes cooperation, and drives innovation in Richmond.
In addition to providing legal consultation, information exchange, and business support to help members and residents protect their lawful rights and interests, the Association also actively promotes social services, multicultural inclusion, community participation, and engagement in public affairs.
We strive to unite the strengths of all sectors in Richmond, foster the overall development of the community, and respond to the needs of the public. We sincerely welcome all individuals who live, work, or operate a business in the City of Richmond to join us in building a more prosperous, civilized, harmonious, and inclusive Richmond.
The Association supports merchants, residents, and community stakeholders through practical assistance, shared resources, and broader civic engagement.

The Richmond Merchants Association is committed to long-term community and economic development through the following key objectives.
Encourage and support young people in Richmond to pursue entrepreneurship, develop practical abilities, and realize their aspirations.
Promote training, development, and upskilling of both local and overseas labour talent to support workforce stability and long-term growth.
Advocate for affordable housing projects that improve living conditions in Richmond and the Greater Vancouver area.
Support community kitchens and related services that provide meals, referrals, and care for people in need, seniors, and vulnerable groups.
Encourage members to actively join charitable and community support initiatives and bring the strength of the business sector back into society.
